Mad for Mosaic

I'm not always a very trendy gal. I like what I like... and it may not be what is "hot" this season. However, this year I am loving the new mosaic trend! So I guess I'll be keeping up with the times for once :)

My favorite product line in this years catalog is therefore Quatrafancy. It is so fancy! And of course I love it when things are all matchy-matchy so the fact that I can get stamps, punches, paper, and embossing folders to match... I'm in heaven :)

Here is one of the first cards I made with the Mosaic Madness stamp set. It is a partial case of one of the samples in the catalog. Do you like??

The bright colors make me so cheerful :)

Flutterby again soon for more Mosaic love!

Recipe Card (with links):
Mosaic Madness Stamp Set
Sweet Essentials Stamp Set
Modern Mosaic Texture Folder
Brights Inks
Cardstock (Whisper White & Daffodil Delight)

If you don't already have a demonstrator pick me (Amber Swift) to ensure you get the preferred prices!

Summer Fun

As promised I'm here to tell you about my summer vacation album. This one was even easier to do than the Christmas photobook because I liked the template and colors already so there was far less swapping of elements!

However, there was one hitch- I like square albums... and this one was set up as an 11 x 8 1/2. Well, no worries... MDS can fix that now! Here is what one of the page spreads looked like originally

But then... Da-da-da-da... MDS to the rescue to change the size. Just go to Edit > Change Project Size/Type and choose 12x12. The conversion isn't perfect, but it just takes a little cleaning up afterwards. And then I had this page!

Ain't it cute?!? On this layout I used the extra space I got to add a title and more journaling. Some pages I enlarged the pictures to take up more of the blank space. It just depended on what I felt like for that layout :)

Here is another one of my favorite layouts from the book. You see, my Grandma is always sending us pictures of the sunset... so we decided to play a little joke on her this evening. First my mom sent her a picture of the sunset. And then I sent a picture of her taking a picture of the sunset... and then my brother sent a picture of my mom and I taking pictures... well you get the idea!

The 1, 2, 3, 4 Enjoy the Moment theme worked so well for this page. I was super excited to put it together and thrilled with how it turned out. The colors of the theme work really well with the sunset pictures too :)

Have a great day and make sure you catch a sunset yourself before summer is over! Flutterby again soon!

More Christmas in August :)

So while I was away on Maturnity leave I actually managed to get TWO photobooks done in two weeks time. The first was my Christmas album that I had begun (but only had a few pages) and the second was of our summer vacation at the lake last year. Now how did I do so much in such little time you ask???

Simple. I used templates :) They are fantastic! With two little ones around now I'm going to have to start doing this more often as they are a HUGE timesaver.

For my Christmas album I was using the Keep this Memory template and changing it up to add Christmas-y paper and elements. Also I love Love LOVE the fact that you can now recolor elements in MDS, which allowed me to change the existing elements I wanted to keep into my new color scheme.

Here is one of my favorite pages from the album. Probably because the two people in it are so adorable and I'm biased :)

Here is the page as it is in the template. See the similarities? Now obviously I did switch it up a bit, but having that template to start with was so valuable and WAY easier than starting from scratch.

Flutterby again soon to hear about my summer vacation album!

Christmas in... August

Well, it would have been much more fun if it was still July, but August will have to do :)

Stampin' Up! has just released a new flyer of single stamps that are available- and they are Christmas themed. They are all available through January, so grab them while they are hot. And while you are at it you can get a great head start on your Christmas cards. Just add some cardstock, ink, and DSP and you are ready to go!
