Two More Swap Cards

Ready for more swap cards? I've got some cuties for you today!

This one is curtsey of Joanna Middendorf. I love the pop-up flower, it adds so much dimension.

Then there is this other vintage feel card Deb Klaphake brought for us.

If you look closely there is a little rhinestone in the middle of the ferris wheel. Flashy :)

Sale-a-bration & Spring Catalog Swap

I just got back from participating in a demonstrator swap of cards from the Sale-a-bration and Spring catalog. WooHoo! We got to make some pretty cute cards, and over the next couple of posts I'm going to share some of them with you :) And I'd also like to shout out a quick thanks to my group's leader Pasty Waggoner for organizing the event. Click on her link to see some of the amazing work she does.

The first card I've got for you was made by one of my new friends Tara Jeffries.

Pretty much everything here was made using the FREE stuff you can earn with a Sale-a-bration order. Love FREE stuff!

Next I have a little gem for you from Mary Beers. Love the vintage look to this one.

I love the look of the Celebrate stamped on the cotton ribbon. It is fun to be able to customize the accessory that way! Oh yeah, and the stamps used here are also FREE.

Sale-a-bration Hybrid Card

And now for the picture you've all been waiting for, the completed hybrid version of my card!

It turned out so awesome! The arrow is cut out and popped up on dimensionals and the cupcake is matted with Rich Razzleberry cardstock. With 2 sheets of cardstock I was actually able to print out enough arrows and cupcakes for 18 cards! WooHoo. I also printed out the base layer of the card to get the fancy chevron background (of course that was only 2 to a sheet though, since it takes a half sheet of paper for each card).

The rest of what you see is all FREE product that you can get from Sale-a-bration! The Sycamore Street DSP is one of the choices, and the ribbon/button combo is another. And yes I did say FREE! In case you are not familiar with StampinUp!'s Sale-a-bration, for every $50 you order you get to pick one product from their flyer for free. Sweet right :)  Oh, and don't forget the digital images I used were also on the FREE cd you could pick. So really this card cost me nothing except cardstock :)

If you want to see more Sale-a-bration offers just check out their flyer on my "Current Specials" page, and then hop over to www.StampinUp.com to put in your order. And remember- you always get the preferred price if you select a demonstrator to go through, so if you don't have one already feel free to pick me :)

Hope your weekend was fantastic! Flutterby again soon.

MDS Hybrid Card

I've got a shoebox swap coming up, and since I'm the MDS guru for my team that means it is time to break into Hybrid Card mode again!

For those of you who don't know what a shoebox swap is, it is where you load all the supplies needed to make a couple of copies of a card into a box- thus the shoebox- and have friends make a copy of your card while you make a copy of theirs. It is an easy way to get a bunch of cards without having to be ubber creative for all of them :)

Anyway, the theme for our upcoming swap was the spring catalog that was just released and/or the Sale-a-bration brochure that will be starting on the 22nd (are you excited yet??). I decided to make my card using items on the "One Big Sale-a-bration Digital Disc" so here's your sneak peak at what you can get soon!

Isn't it sweet! The only item here that wasn't on the disc was the arrow (which I created using various punches) and the chevron background that came with MDS2+. For the hybrid version of the card I'm planning to use actual DSP for the border along the bottom, and a real ribbon and button (all three of which are more great Sale-a-bration items you can get for free!). I'm also planning on popping up the arrow on some dimensionals and having the cupcake piece matted with real cardstock.

Hope you enjoy the digital version of my swap. Flutter back soon to see what the hybrid looked like all finished.

ThINKin ahead towards V-day

Wow it has been a long time. Guess the holiday's were pretty busy around here! I barely got any crafting done since preparing for my daughter's birthday party. Here I thought I would get caught up on the grandparents 2012 album over Christmas break, but instead I ended up in bed with the stomach flu- not quite the 'fun, relaxing break' I had planned.

I finally got a chance to turn on MDS yesterday while my daughter took a nap- and it was a much needed respite. I decided to start ahead on my Valentine's Day cards. Who knows, I may even be ahead of schedule enough to get them professionally printed- wouldn't that be a treat!

Here is what I came up with, and I am so happy with how it turned out. Isn't it just stinkin' cute :)

The paper, buttons, and ribbons are all from the Twitterpated Kit. Such a great digital kit since it comes with so much stuff! Most of the stamps are from the You Are Loved stamp brush set (except the string of hearts- that is Sprinkled Expressions from last year's Sale-a-bration, but the same look could be achieved using a row of heart punches). And last but not least, the cute little scalloped heart embellishment is made from the Hearts Collection punch.
