A couple of weeks ago the challenge was to use this layout:
And here is what I came up with:
Now, I'm not really a vintage style person, and I'm definitely not a "crooked picture" person, but I love how this turned out. I really wanted to use these two pictures together, but the colors didn't look nice side-by-side and it created a very busy look. Thus, I decided to try the sepia tones and was very impressed with how it pulled them together. After that I vintaged up the page a bunch more- paper flowers, antique brads, and the flower embellishments from the "You're My Sunshine" kit.
Now, if you are familiar with the "You're my Sunshine" kit you might object- those embellishments are all grey and yellow... but I would tell you that MDS2 has this great new feature for recoloring embellishments! To match the blue from the paper I recolored the flowers by picking the dark shade in the upper right corner, and to get the browns I just used Espresso (same as the journaling). Cool right?
To see how you can do this yourself just check out this tutorial video SU! put together for MDS2. Enjoy, and flutterby again soon :)
